The Department of Children and Families (DCF), driven by the needs and choices of its clients, promotes family and personal self-determination. Along with many dedicated partners, the department is accountable for changing lives and strengthening communities.

Office of Economic Self-Sufficiency

MedGroup Medical Center is an Economic Self-Sufficiency Program partner agency, which helps families in need apply for Medicaid, Food Stamps, Temporary Cash Assistance and more through the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF).

For your convenience, our Center has a designated ACCESS Room where you can apply for social services from DCF and from Medicaid. Medicaid provides medical coverage to low-income families and individuals. The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) determines eligibility.

Medicare Savings Program at MedGroup Medical Center

The Medicare Savings Program can help pay your Medicare premiums. It may also pay Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance), Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) deductibles, coinsurance and co-payments if you meet certain conditions.

Even if you have income from working, you may qualify for one of these programs. If you qualify for one of these programs, you will also automatically qualify to get Extra Help paying for Medicare prescription drug coverage.

Social Security Referrals at MedGroup Medical Center

As part of your ACCESS application, MedGroup Medical Center’s experienced staff will provide you with Social Security referrals to obtain your social security card, if eligible. Our experienced staff will also help you read and interpret social security communication letters regarding Social Supplemental Income (SSI), Medicare benefits, and more.

Medicaid for the Elderly, Disabled, and Families

Low-income individuals may be eligible for Medicaid. Coverage under this group may include unemployed or underemployed parents and their children up to the age of 18, seniors over 65 years old, and disabled individuals.

Food Stamp Program at MedGroup Medical Center

The Food Stamp Program helps low-income individuals buy healthy food. Food assistance benefits are a supplement to our patients’ and their families’ food budgets.

Households may need to spend some of their own money, along with their food assistance benefits, to buy enough food for one month. Individuals who buy and cook food together are considered one household for food assistance purposes. Individuals must meet the residence/citizenship requirements to qualify and provide a social security number, or provide proof that they have applied for a social security number.

MedGroup Medical Center works through a referral program with state and federal agencies to help eligible individuals apply for Residency or U.S. Citizenship.
